2009 going on 2010! The countdown has begun and yet another year has gone by even though it feels like just yesterday we were doing the same things. 1) panicking, because we still haven’t found the right outfit for our NYE party 2) thinking about things that we won’t be doing next year and other NY resolutions 3) thinking about the things we said we weren’t going to be doing in 2009 but still did…

For me, 2009 was the year I discovered and in turn started following most of you. It was also the year, even thought it was right at the end, I started my own blog, started twitting, and brought more clothes than ever. This past year has given me the opportunity to uncover and understand a whole new fashionable world and community that lives online. All of the above, has made me want to improve my blog, post outfits of my own, and speak more about the blogger behind FashionCloud, i.e myself. So get ready for a new an improved blog in 2010!

For the last post of 2009, I decided to share with you all the looks and items that either made me run to the shops to buy something similar and raid my closet for some lost and found items or looks that simply inspired me.

Thank you to all my followers, hope you stick with me and have a great evening off-line. See you all in 2010!!

OTK socks13

Posted In Trend

After the OTK boots phenomena we have been faced with the OTK socks. A trend that was revived by Gossip Girl fans all over the world and when Carrie was seen sporting them at 30+ (to not say 40) then that was it; OTK sock became a trend to be seen wearing. Sure, the preppy look is inevitable when sporting OTK socks but it doesn’t mean you have to look like  sixteen year old schoolgirl.

Floor length3

Just like with the wide legs, it’s refreshing to see some floor length skirts and dresses among all the cocoon minis, and shorter than short skirts. They were around all summer being worn in all patterns and colours à la Nicole Richie paired with head bands, gladiators and necklaces. However, this winter they are back in gorgeous greys, creams and black. In my opinion best worn with high hells to avoid looking to much like a bad Olsen copy.

Sorry for the couple days of absence, it’s been very hectic here with Christmas and all the mess that follows, holiday preparations (Rome) and the constant reminder that I have a Thesis to write. Hope everyone had a great and fashionable Christmas.

All Black5

Posted In Trend

I have increasingly noticed that the French but also the Nordics do the “All black” trend to perfection (of course they are not the only ones). They either play around with different textures or add a bold and colored accessory which prevents them from looking dull and shapeless. This is another one of my favorite trends maybe due to the fact that’ I’m utterly crap with colours. I always seem to say well away from colours but they are on my New years resolution list right there at the top with 1) I shall buy no more shoes and 2) Buy less buy better. So lets just say there is a slim chance any of that is ever going to happen.

Love How these girls have dressed down they their LBDs with chunky heels or boots. Great “I didn’t try that hard but yet I still look fabulous” outfits.

I discovered this Dutch blogger not that long ago and really liked her edgy side that she pulls off without ever looking dull. I would need much more than one small photo-set to illustrate just how well she pulls this look off, so I would go and check her out if you haven’t done so already.

Happy Christmas in advance.

Why ignore the inevitable, the Back&White duo as been around since, well since always, and is here to say. Fashion is a bit like science, while there are some thing we just cannot wrap our heads around, there are others that are pretty easy to grasp, such as Black&White. When it comes to this trend, the rules are pretty straight forward and the only trick really is to avoid looking like a waitress.

These four ladies do the Black&White trend to perfection. I already spoke about Rumi’s amazing ability to turn just about any old (white) T-shirt into a show stopping outfit.

This German Law student and blogger not only has a great sense of style but also has the amazing ability of creating a numerous amount of outfits with a few key pieces. An ability I have yet to master. yes, indeed I would love to be that girl who goes on holiday with just three pairs of shoes, some clothes and all of it nicely fitting into a carry-on bag. yeah right, like that’s going to happen any time soon. Coming back to the good and fashionable stuff, she’s masters the Black&White trend my mixing and matching every kind of textures possible and she makes it work every time.

Have a great day
