Mix & Match21

Here is a trend I have grown to be really found of, just because it represent perfectly what fashion is all about. It’s not about what’s in and out (okay maybe  a little) and it’s not about following someone’s rules. It is much simpler than that, indeed it is about having fun with what you have, it’s about representing on the outside what you feel inside, and more importantly it’s about having fun. What better way than to simply mix and match colourful prints and what a great way to transition from the winter prints we have been wearing (i.e. stripes, stripes and more stripes) into the summer ones we can’t just quite wear yet.

One blogger who don’t shy away from bright colours and bold prints, and who sure plays the game of Mix and Match well, isSusanna (aka Susie Bubble (as seen above)). Love her for stepping out of  ’conventional fashion’ and creating such jaw dropping outfits!!

Lately I have been fascinated about the discussions surrounding bloggers, who knew that simple individuals with a willingness to express themselves, whether this be by writing, clothing, or any other form of expression, would create such huge debates. Indeed, it seems that many are intrigued, but also criticise and analyse in depth, the impact and the legitimacy of bloggers. Many high end magazines seem to dislike them (us, not quite use to being part of the blogosphere yet), partnerships and gift receiving are frowned upon, and every little detail is microscopically analysed, and for what? I have yet to fin d a logical explanation, appart from the fact that bloggers are becoming an increasingly fast growing generation of open minded people who will say and do what is on their mind, connected together at all corners of the world, giving them a louder voice and thus power of influence that many couldn’t even dream of.

I think people are just going to have to get over themselves (Yes Anna Wintour, Tavi will be sitting in the front row of many fashion shows to come and she won’t be the only blogger either) and accept the reality of thing, bloggers are here and it looks like they are here to say with a lot on their minds. Indeed, there is an endless amount of ink and paper here in the blogosphere.

So here is a little outfit post, love this Yesstyle fleece jacket, just the best. Yesstyle has yet to disappoint me. I brought these dress in several colours and its actually really soft and great to wear. I guess most of you got something from the Graden Collection this weekend, I got quite  a few pieces I will share with you sometime soon. But I didn’t manage to get my hands on the lovely red rose dress (sigh). I have been asked quite a few time by my french readers to translate my blog, as the requests have become increasingly numerous I am seriously considering translating my posts, however I am worried it won’t translate that well. Do you have any suggestions regard this?

Today it was about big curls and 80’s gold blazers, ahh the joys of finding unexpected items in unexpected places and then wearing them in (well in my case) expected ways. So here you have my outfit of today, pretty laid back and yes, no heels! Founds these pumps in Primark last weekend and I think I brought them in just about every colour, perfect for spring/summer.

Why was yesterday a proud day for yours truly? Well, I was contacted a while back by the lovely Sharon, founder of FocusOnStyle who to my great surprise wanted little old me to do recurring contributor’s articles for FocusOnStyle. As FashionCloud is mainly about how bloggers dress and the trends that they seem to be ‘following’ and adapting into their own personal style, we thought it would be great to do ‘One piece, Four different styles, Four fashion bloggers’. And just yesterday the first ‘One, Four,Four’ was launched and since then I have been walking around like a proud mum with a bit stupid grin on my face. So go check it out HERE (to discover the item that has been styled by four amazing bloggers) and feel free to leave a comment and honestly tell me what you think. I wanted to thank all of you who have supported me in such amazing ways and thank you for all your kind words and emails. This is exactly the reason why I can’t wait to do my big giveaway and give my readers the opportunity to win some amazing stuff. Also, a huge thanks to Sharon for taking a chance with me and offering me this incredible opportunity. xx

What do these beauties have in common you might ask? Well in case you havent spotted the large chunk of equally gorgeous wood dangling of their feet, it’s the blogged famous Dany shoes by JS. I don’t know what it is with them, but I have found my self very attracted to them and pondering just how I might be able to balance myself on a pair of these beauties. These are not normally the kind of heels i gravitate towards (admire the choice of words) but hey f they look good and the catwalk, look great on these girls why can’t they look just as good on me? And god know I could uses the extra inches that comes with them. Well I have looked and searched for someone to deliver these over to our little Island but with no such luck…until… Bakershoes who have kindly offered my desperate self a pair of silver Dany platforms and will ship them to the UK!

Now all I have to do is be patient (I think I’m capable of such a thing) and start practicing walking on stilts. Then again, if I can’t walk in them, I hope I can at least look this good twirling around in my office chair. That will do!

Just a quick outfit post and a reminder that being serious 24/7 is neither good nor, well, serious. Going backwards and forth between Canterbury and London, I have noticed that very rarely do I take pictures when I am running around London. On this occasion I made a point of taking the time to snap some pictures to share with you.

I was also very flattered to see my looks here and here. Thanks Elodie, Laura and Elisabeth!! You can also check out my features in my ‘featured in’ section, an opportunity to discover new blogs.

Also, I hope you have noticed the countdown to ‘the big 100th post giveaway’ has begun. No excuses for not knowing as I have posted the countdown on the top of the sidebar. I will not reveil what there is to win, not yet anyway, but i will say this much. There will be two big winners!!
