After coming back from what was a very pleasant ten days in Cannes bathing in 30°degrees of pure sunshine, I have to admit that I was a bit taken back landing at the airport in my sandals and bright pink Topshop jeans and noticing that it was actually raining. And it has been like this for the last week 24° with moments of sunshine followed by hours of rain. It is that time of the year where you hesitate before leaving the house and wonder if you should be packing umbrellas and hoodies or sunglasses and protection creme, and I am not enjoying it one little bit. Anyway, surely I can’t be the only girl in town that has on more occasion than one found herself stripping off her tights and jackets in sync with the sun’s brief but warm appearances. And this is exactly what happend with this latest outfit.

Thank you all for sticking with me and the blog, I was glad to see some of you go back and read some of my older posts whilst I was away. I have to say, I am not yet use to blogging and being on holiday at the same time as I am one of those people that likes to be cut off from the real world at least two weeks a year. I have always admired girls that could pull of doc Matens boots without going down the whole grunge road. Even more so, when these girls pulls off the look and make these leather boots girlie by pairing them with skirt, dresses, dotted tights or anything else remotely girlish. For the time being I will stick with my biker boots but maybe one day I will give this look a go. What do ou think about these boots? Can you pull it off without going the whole mile?

Canterbury Cathedral where it all happened

Okay so I was thinking (out loud on twitter, as you do nowardays) if I should do a post of my “kind of stupid looking but oh so worth it” graduation outfit.  This is not normally the kind of posts I do but, well the outcry from you guys was an clear and definite yes, so here goes…

So there you have it, three year in Canterbury and one year in paris, one hat and gown later and one diploma heavier, and I have finally graduated. On to the next!

Also, for further amusement take a look at this, because if you thought us graduates looked stupid you should see the honoraries such as Orlando Bloom. The Brits sure have some charming folklore.

The lovely Keira from Swatch contacted me a while ago to let me know that my favourite watches were coming out in new colours this summer, yes I am talking about the Full Blooded Collection by swatch. I already own it in black and gold (seen here) and in dark red. However, I am contemplating getting another but I am stuck on the colours. I love the dark pink and purple but I prefer the more discret colours so I am leaning toward the caramel one. What do you guys think?

Also, a huge thank you for all your kind words regarding the giveaway and I am so glad that you all enjoyed it. Here is what I wore yesterday as the weather was just taking the piss out of us by raining one minute and sun shining the next, I decided to pull out my biker boots from YesStyle and pull on a light and easy silk shirt from zara (that I found during the sales). As Bruges will be the place I call “home” for a year, starting as of September, I thought it would be a good idea to go and visit the place for a day. I have to say I was pleasant surprise and I am actually looking forward to hiring a bike for the year and going to uni on it. This will definitely be the last chapter of my student life. So here is one trend that I will more often than not associate to bad things, very bad and tacky things. However, this being said, it is also one of those trends that when pulled off to perfection can look so damn right. And if I am completely honest with all of you, I get very envious of people when them pull of the white jeans look, because it ends up looking so clean and modern and well put together.

I hope everyone had a great weekend (and that all my American readers had a fantastic 4th July). Mine was spent collection the new car as a drunk driver completely destroyed my old one, hopefully no one was in the car that much I can be grateful for. It was also spent visiting the gorgeous city of Bruges (in Belgium). As I have been accepted to study at the College of Europe, I will be spending all of next year doing a masters in diplomacy and European external relations which is my other passion. However, I ended up spending most of my time sweet shop hopping (which seems to have become my new own personal sport) instead of really visiting the city. I will share the pictures with you tomorrow.

This video is a nice change to all the half naked women used to sell products. I have to say I am really enjoying Prada at the moment and like a lot of you I have my eye on those gorgeous plexi sandals, they would be perfect for this summer and I am sure they will give just about anyone killer legs. Prada sure as hell brought plexi and plastic back and made it wearable.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, personally I was not prepared for such a heat wave but I refuse to complain. With the sales just around the corner I have my little “what i really really want bu do not need” list ready. Another thing that is just around the corner are the holidays which I cannot wait for, the first part of the hols will be spent doing a road trip with the bf just after graduation (from 16th July onwards). We are planning on going to Cannes, then Monaco followed by St-Tropez, Genova and Milan, then we will head back to Brussels via Munich and Baden-baden. Looking forward to seen a few of you on our road trip.

If Paris has Chanel, London has Mulberry and New york has Alexander wang then Brussels has Delvaux. The Belgian brand, Delvaux is as old as Belgium itself, making the oldest fine leather luxury goods company in the world.

I was invited to a lunch and a round table by the House of Delvaux, along side other Belgian bloggers, as they are currently unveiling a new collection called “Toujours” aimed at the everyday modern and active woman. The designs are more modern, well thought out and most of all practical, and the prices are affordable. This being said, lowering the price did in no way entail lowering the standards and the quality of their leather goods. We had the opportunity to visit the workshop in order to further understand what is means by the term “luxury good”. Indeed, every single handbag that comes out of the House of Delvaux has been hand made from start to finish. I do have to say I will be thinking twice before dumping my next handbag on the floor when I see the effort and the quality of the craftsmanship that goes into a bag. In our era of Logos and branding is was refreshing to see a company with heart and soul and a legacy that is more about the bag than the label itself.

Vous l’avez tant demandé et longtemps attendu; voici enfin le premier post en Français.  Je me suis dis que vu qu’il s’agissait d’un post sur une marque Belge, j’allais permettre aux francophones parmi vous d’ en profiter tout autant que mes lectrices anglophones. J’ai eu l’honneur d’avoir été invitée à un lunch et une table ronde chez Delvaux, suivit d’une visite des ateliers et le tout aux cotés d’autres blogeurs Belges.

En effet, si Paris à Chanel, Londres à Mulberry, et que New- York a Alexander Wang et bien Bruxelles à Delvaux. La Maison Delvaux est aussi vieille que la Belgique elle-même, faisant de Delvaux la plus vieille maroquinerie du monde. On a été invités pour que Delvaux puisse nous présenter leur nouvelle collection nommée “Toujours”, qui est destinée aux femmes modernes et actives. Les créations sont fluides, modernes et pratiques dans une gamme de prix d’autant plus accessible à un public plus large. Mais une gamme de prix moins élevée ne va pas de paire avec une qualité moindre. D’ailleurs la visite des ateliers Delvaux nous a permis de se rendre compte du travail minutieux de la création de chaque sac Delvaux. Et je dois avouer, que dans l’ère où les logos et le ‘branding’ priment avant tout, c’était une bouffée d’air frais que de voir qu’il y a encore quelques Maisons de luxe qui ont une réelle âme et où l’on accorde une plus grande importance au sac plutôt qu’a son logo. La journée fût une belle réussite; une table ronde pleines d’idées et de discussions, un lunch agréable et une visite pleines de surprises.

The FAA H&M collection was a huge success and the next day all over the fashion blogs, fashionistas were sharing with their readers their favourites picks and the items they had gotten their hands on. I was really looking forward to seing all of these colourful pieces worn differently. I was kind of disappointed as I don’t feel like I came across as many outfits inspired by the FAA collection as I had hoped. This being said I still wanted to hare with you some of my favourite items worn in various differnet and inspiring ways.
