When In London

Whether you are in London for just 12 hours or for a week, you will always have the same problem - so little time and so much to see. Here are some of the 'incontournable' of London.

DF / Mexico is the new cool place in town serve some of the best burritos and tortillas I have had in a while.

They serve four kinds of food - NYC tortas, an homage to Mexico and NY fusion, soft corn tortillas perfectly seasoned, seriously perfect burritos and DIY Mexican boards. See the full menu here. All of the above are served and filled with either chicken, steak, fish or pork. There are also loads of sides to chose from - we definitely would suggest the lightly dusted chilli fries with chipotle sauce (which is to die for).

I took the fish tortillas and they were simply perfect. The panko crumbed cod was delicious (and cooked to perfection) and served with crunchy salad/red slaw and extremely good salsa (that chipotle mayo again), topped with a drizzle of lime all tucked into two soft tortillas.

The restaurant is hassle free and has a fast food vibe to whereby you order from a machine, pick up your 'all you can drink' drinks and simply wait for your food to arrive. If there are just two of you I recommend you sit near the window for a good session of 'people watching'.

Viva La Pizza: The Art Of The Pizza Box

A showcase of some of the most weird and wonderful pizza boxes from around the world, presented by world-record holding pizza box collector, author and all-round pizza expert Scott Wiener in association with hungryhouse.co.uk.

The Art of the Brick

A giant lego art expo, what more can you ask for. The expo features "over 75 art sculptures created from more than a million LEGO® bricks by US artist Nathan Sawaya and having already attracted millions of visitors worldwide, The Art of the Brick has been proclaimed by CNN as one of the ‘world’s 10 must-see exhibitions." I have heard mixed things about the expo but if you are in London between now and NY's eve it is probably worth a small detour.

Winter Wonderland

If you are in London during the Christmas period, Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is definitely worth a visit. It is fairly empty from Monday to Thursday and then gets quite busy but although the queues look impressive they don't actually last very long.

The Attractions - The park has a lot of great rides for the younger kids just like it has some very decent attractions for the more mature crowd. Santa Land is full of games that will cost you a fortune and you most probably won't win anything, but let's face it you are not here to win but rather to have a fun time. I highly recommend the Racing reindeer - there I said it.

The Food & Drinks - Just like any typical - or not so typical - Christmas market you can get your Mulled wine - with or without a series of other alcohol shots in it. You also have your hot chocolate (I would definitely go with the Baileys Hot chocolate) and German beer.

As for the food, there is just about anything you can think of from savoury to sweet; hot dogs, pulled pork, skewers, pancakes, waffles, potato crisps, corn on the cob, pizzas, candy floss, pop corn... Basically if it is bad for you yet oh so good they will have it.

The Atmosphere - I went on a Sunday evening and had a blast but boy oh boy is the place crawling with drunk teenagers and rowdy men which is a bit of a shame but we just saw it as an additional attraction.
