Bread & Butter

Bread & Butter farmhouse cafe is neatly tucked away in Hackney, one minute from Haggerston station and one minute from De Beauvoir. It is right next door to where we live and as such it is one of our regular places where we go to get breakfast or lunch when we are just too lazy to do it ourselves.

We like it for its 'homy' and very laid back feel to it. Also, they allow dogs which as you will all know by now is a huge bonus for us. Actually, not only do they allow dogs but they are great with them.

The menu is simple and perfect ranging from pancakes with fruit compote to full English breakfast, breakfast sandwiches, wraps, salads and delicious cakes.

If you are looking for somewhere to work and spend the afternoon and you don't really feel like being in an overcrowded Starbucks or McDonald this is the place for you.

They are also a deli with a variety of produces and products and you can take away the cakes, breads, patisseries and sandwiches.

Dalston Street Feast

London is home to numerous street food festivals. Every weekend there is a new place to go and try some street food, every year there are different 'festivals' and this year is no different. Street Feast has returned to Dalston Yard for a 20 weekend run. Every Friday and every Saturday (until the 27th September) you can discover a rotating line-up of the best street food vendors. We are talking B.O.B's Lobster, Le Bun, Hotbox, Smokestak, Yum Bun, Bredos tacos...

Definitely worth the detour and a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon in the sun trying out all the different foods and a great way to discover new vendors. The B.O.B's lobster roll would have to be my highlight. It is simply divine; the bread was perfect, it was packed with delicious lobster and the sauce was incredible but didn't hide the taste of the lobster either.
