About the blogger

A student, a daughter, a girlfriend, a friend, a shopaholic, and now a blogger,

When I am asked to define my style, I find myself lost for words. Firstly, I don't really believe in having to define and categorize everything all the time. Secondly, I would be the most unfaithful person to any (and all) of these categories as I like to experiment and will just about try anything.

In other words, I wear what I like and what I feel like wearing at that precise time and place. Now, sometimes it works and others it doesn't, but at least I can say I have tried it. This being said, no matter what I wear I do try never to fade away or hide behind my clothes, or worse be someone I am not.

As most redheads will tell you, we already stand out in a crowed and because of this I often down play my outfits in orders to blend in. Indeed, I like things simple, and even though I am a sucker for handbags, packing on jewelry, crazy shoes and all the other amazing things one can do with fashion, I more often than not find myself leaving the house with a watch as unique accessory.  And this I often regret, as one simple detail on an outfit can really make it that much more personal.

Fashion trends frustrate me but also fascinate me. I am more often than not, too late on a trend or too soon catching on. Either way, I just figure that trends will come back round if I miss it the first time around. So, even though I don't believe in following the trends to a T, I do believe that it is these same trends that push people to think outside of the box. Thus, making the fashion blogosphere, created by today's youth, the most incredible journey anyone could take.

J. Campbell studded wedges

So Jeffrey Campbell is better known as the shoe designer who, well let's just say it, copied more than one pair of the most wanted shoes. There was Burberry black ankle boot, the Balmain studded sandal, the Acne Atacoma wedge, the chloe boott, Alexander Wang's latest boot and the list goes on. And I don't hear any fashion bloggers complaining either. However, he has done some fantastic creations "of his own" too,  such as the very desired open toe studded wedge that comes in three different colours.

Like many, I liked that this shoe was pretty unique in it's own way and most definitely a show stopper. However, I really had wished he was not an open toe booty. and then I would have probably run out and got it.  So When I saw this girl's DIY project, I feel in love, she had recreated the exact shoe that I had imagined and to a T. Her Incredible DIY project is here and see how she wears it here.

A classic trench with a twist

I really like this collection and I love the fact that Burberry has managed yet again to reinvent such a classic and timeless piece. Remember I spoke about the trench here, in one of my previous posts.

Hope you are all having a great weekend

Denim shorts'à la Rumi'

This is the trend that made Rumi, from Fashiontoast ( do I really still need to introduce this "oh so very stylish" blogger) jump to stardom or at least made most of us recognize her name. However, it was this same style trend that resulted in her having to explain herself and her fashion choices in one of her latest post. I invite you, if you haven't already done so, to go and read this article (dated 12/17/2009 and got nothing less than 364 comments and counting). Because, as one blogger put it, it truly is "the article we wished we had written ourselves".

So back to the trend itself, if you haven't guessed by now, I am talking of the denim shorts and tights combo perfect for winter. Worn by so many of you that I was hard to make a selection, so I tried to be as diverse as possible in my picks, this part you made easy. This unstoppable trend, simple as it may be has been sported in so many diverse ways. I'm talking killer heels vs. combat boots, opaque black tights vs. sheer dotted ones, OTK boots vs. ballet pumps, itsy bitty shorts vs. boyfriend shorts, blue denim vs. black denim...

Hope you all have a great week-end, if you have any comments or questions do feel free.
