The Lancôme Makeover

I have never been great with makeup so it is no surprise that it took a professional makeup artist at a photo shoot with Never Underdressed for me to lean a thing or two about makeup - including that I have been doing it all wrong.

The makeup up in question was from Lancôme and she did such a stellar job on me that one week later I found myself back in her makeup chair, only this time it was at Selfridges and I was going to leave with the essentials for a perfect every-day face.

This was five months ago and I have been using the products ever since.

Hydra Zen by Lancôme

The Hydra Zen Neurocalm SPF 15 by Lancôme is one of those great products you come across once in a while that makes you question what you were doing before it came along.

Moisturising creams and foundations are the two types of products I have been testing and trying for as long as I can remember. Along the way I found some good products but never anything truly great, that was until I tried Hydra Zen a few weeks ago during the Never Underdressed photo shoot.

The simple fact is that my face and skin had never looked better and my foundation (as well as the rest of the makeup) had never look so good for so long. I went back to Lancôme a few days later to enquire about the products used during the photo shot and was able to try again the Hydra Zen cream - amongst a plethora of other products - and it was clear that we had a winner.

The cream is nearly £40 - neither a bargain or a massive expense in my opinion - but it is worth every penny and has made a huge difference.

The Deauty box

Monthly boxes that are delivered to your doorset every month are all the craze right now. Whether these contain wine, food, clothes, pet products, jewelry, shoes or even new beauty products to try out. A couple of these types of boxes have finally arrived to Belgium, which I am very excited about.

The idea is fairly simple: pay every month 15€ - or pay once yearly - and you receive a gorgeous box full of new products to try out. I really like the idea of paying a small fee every month and having a box full of goodies delivered to my doorstep. This month the lovely people over at Deauty sent me their first box and it was all but disappointing. It is full of great new products to try out, products that I would probably never think about trying or brands I have never gotten to know. For one, I am really curious to try out the Mythic Oil by L'Oréal Professionnel, as well as the Nuxe rose water. I will let you know - my un-expert opinion that is - what I think about the products as I try them along the way . One thing is for sure, you definitely get your money's worth and what a great present it would make - one year of new products to discover and try.
