The Kooples

Just a simple outfit post after a hectic, yet fun weekend. The blazer I am wearing I actually brought last in year when I was still living in Paris from this 'not so new but still relatively new' brand called 'The Kooples'. It's one of those pieces that when you see it in the window of the shop you instantly know you have to have it, you then run in, try it on and fall in love while discarding at the same time the price tag. This being said, it then spends more than a year stuck at the bottom of my wardrobe with the tag still dangling off its left sleeve. Lost but then found, I couldn't believe I had spent so much money on a item I hadn't even worn yet. This being said, I really do love it and it is no longer at the bottom of a dark closet.

The jacket actually illustrates perfectly The Kooples's aesthetic of street chic and a Parisian/London state of mind with a hint of musical background. I love the fact that the jacket is very endogenous, I have always had a thing for wearing men's clothes.

Wearing: The Kooples Jacket, Cos dress worn as a top, H&M jeans, Zara suede heels and Miss Selfridge turquoise ring.

Mill Lane

I have spared you my numerous outfits were I am bundled up yet again in my new green cargo coat, or hidden under layers of fleeces and tights or where I simply look like I have just crawled out of a cave. And trust me, you guys are very grateful! However, the sun decided to make an appearance today which, more or less, forced me out from under my various and numerous layers and into something worth while showing.

Wearing: Zara dress (last summer), H&M sleeveless cardigan and grey blazer, Fripstar (vintage shop in Paris, Le Marais) belt and faux snake skin clutch, Zara heels and MyName Necklace.

Also, I have been asked on more than one occasions to do some close ups of my accessories so this was the perfect opportunity as I had on some of my favorites, and for me that means a lot as I tend to shy away from most accessories. Mind you I still don't know why I do.

I am going to interview the people at Kage tomorrow which should be really interesting and lots of fun. I will tell you more about Kage and their beautiful dresses in my next post which should be full of information, pictures and a little glance at their latest T-shirt collection. Until then have a great weekend!

High, higher, highest

This winter, it was out with the 'old' OTK boots and in with the 'new' thigh high boots. Just when you were getting use to wearing the OTK boots, here comes the Uber high boots. Indeed, for the last couple of years they have been discretely creeping their way up our legs to the point were they are sometimes no longer visible.

The trick to not looking like you belong on a street corner seems to be either adding an extra dose of feminine touches or keeping it real simplistic.

On a feminine note, I have seen many floral dresses, lace tights, cute shirts and tons of jewelry paired with leather or suede Tight High boots. More so, long sleeveless faux fur coats seem to take the eye away from the hight of these TH boots, also giving the outfit a warm and cozy feel to it.

On a more simplistic note, the idea is to blend the TH boots into the outfit and make it fade away rather than stand out. Indeed, most girls seem to be pairing theirs with black jeans or over opaque black tights in some way creating the illusion of longer legs and non existent boots. Further more, outfits need to be kept simple and understated, and most important of all is to avoid flashing excess flesh. All of these girls sure have made the TH boots work for them!

Have a nice great day

Thigh high boots and XL T-shirts

This outfit, is every lazy person's dream come true. Tights, extra loose T-shirt paired with thigh high boots, you simply can't go wrong. This season it's out with the OTK boots (not quite so literally) and in with the thigh high boots (as literally). It took me quite some time to find the perfect pair of TH boots, and in the end I found in the last place I though I would; Miss Selfridge. They were on the website for a really short period of time and were really expensive and just before Christmas the price went down to a blissful 30£. They are far less chunky than the Topshop ones making them really discreet, which is great for daytime wear especially when the only other piece of actual clothing I'm sporting is a T-shirt.

P.S: I have now installed a Blogroll. These are all the blogs I follow on a daily basis and my source of inspiration for my Trend posts. To thank you to all of these incredible bloggers out there.
